The interesting thing about Sawsbuck and its pre-evolved form, Deerling, is that it changes its appearance according to the season. This system was first introduced in Pokémon White/Black and exists in Pokémon White 2/Black 2 as well. Unfortunately this system does not exist in other games. Booo! Because of this Sawsbuck will always be found its Spring Form when encountered in the wild in these other games. However, it may appear in its other forms if imported from the generation V games. For what each of Sawsbucks forms look like read on below.
|Spring form:||Summer form:||Autumn form:||Winter form:|
Spring form: Sawsbuck appears in its Spring form if the month is January, May, or September. The antlers are decorated with pink flowers and the spots on its back are also pink. There is also a tuft of fur on its chest. This is Sawsbuck's default form in non-generation V games.
Summer form: Sawsbuck appears in its Summer form if the month is February, June, or October. The antlers are decorated with thick green leaves and the tuft of fur on the chest is gone. There is instead some fur on the back of the head and the tail is pointed upward instead of down like the other forms. The spots on its back are green and the legs are completely brown.
Autumn form: Sawsbuck appears in its Autumn form if the month is March, July, or November. The antlers are decorated with red leaves and flow down instead of up like its summer form. The spots on its back are red and the tuft of fur on its chest, seen on its spring form, is back. The tail is also down again and the hair on the back of the head is gone. The light brown fur on the legs is back.
Winter form: Sawsbuck appears in its Winter form if the month is April, August, or December. The antlers are completely bare and are instead colored white. The tuft of fur on its chest is white and more fluffy compared to the other forms. The fur on the lower part of its legs is also white and fluffy. The spots on its back along with its face and belly are white as well.
