Normally I don't like to use Pokémon that don't evolve from or into anything as I think they tend to be weaker than those that do evolve (I have no idea if that is actually true or not), but in the case of Absol it totally ignores that trend. Come to think of it, Absol is the only Pokémon that doesn't evolve which I like to have on my team whenever I can. Because it has been so long since the release of Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire I cannot remember for the life of me how I was introduced to this Pokémon or even why I began to like it in the first place. Oh well...
Well, even if I can't remember the exact details of how I came to like this Pokémon I can at least explain as to why I like it now. That being this Pokémon is nothing short of awesome. It has a crazy high Attack stat making it an amazing fighter, plus it is just all around cool looking. Also its being able to sense changes in the weather greatly appeals to me, I guess just because I have this strange fascination with weather (especially in the summer when there is thunderstorms!). The number of weather photographs on my computer I have taken can attest to this (even if they are mostly photos of clouds and rainbows *cough*).
When Pokémon X/Y was released and I bought it I obviously had to have an Absol in my party when I learned I could catch them in this game. Unfortunately I went through two of them as I had just then understood how the Nature stat bonuses worked (I know, I'm so sad) and wanted an Absol with a Nature that increased its Attack stat, but lowered its Special Attack stat. That way there it hits even harder with the stat that matters. However, when I tried out Pokémon Amie I fell in love with Absol all over again. Being able to play with your Pokémon is amazing, 'k? I was pretty happy that the feature came back in Pokémon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire. I love it!
