Absol is a generation III Pokémon which makes its debut in Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire for the Gameboy Advance. It is a Dark-type Pokémon and under normal conditions does not evolve into or from anything, but when holding an Absolite it can Mega Evolve into Mega Absol during battle. These Pokémon can be both male and female, and there are no visible differences between genders.
Absol's physical appearance is like a cat. Its dark blue body is covered in white fur with a tuff around its neck and a dark blue oval-like mark on its forehead. It has a scythe-like tail and a long horn on the side of its head that is sharp enough to cut metal and stone. It is used to sense changes in the weather. Its broad, circular feet are equipped with three claws each, and spikes protrude from the heels of its hind legs and the elbows of its anterior legs. It is interesting to note that its head shares a similar shape to the Yin-Yang symbol.
Absol's Mega Evolution form gains a more detailed look. The horn on the side of its head is larger and thicker than normal and it gains another, smaller horn on the other side of its head. The mark on its head looks more triangle-shaped and the fur is much thicker and hangs down like hair, covering its left eye. The tuft of fur on its neck is a little less thick, but on the back of its neck the fur is a lot thicker, to the point it spreads out like wings. The fur at the back of its forelegs and hind legs are also fluffier and the spikes are larger. Its tail gains one more point and that's about it. It's so fluffy!
When comparing Absol to its shiny form the difference is obvious, almost to the point of being way too simple. Nothing wrong with that though! The parts of its body that were once dark blue––such as its face, horn, tail, and claws––are now a reddish orange and the fur is now a very light sort of pink/purple. Its red eyes are now also a light green. In its Mega form the shiny colors are the same as its normal shiny form.
